Day Activity Centre (DAC)

SG Enable’s Enabling Guide describes a DAC as a community-based facility that provides care and skills training to persons with disabilities aged 18 and above, aiming to build daily-living and community-living skills that maximise independence, alongside social and recreational activities. In plain terms: it is where many autistic adults spend their weekdays after the school years end.

The practical layer

• Eligibility: 18 and above with a permanent disability — autism is named — and fees are means-tested for Singapore Citizens and PRs.
• Expect a queue: MSF reported 130 persons with ASD waiting for DAC places, with an average wait of about nine months, and a pledge of 500 more DAC places (as reported by MSF, fetched July 2026).
• A planning hook: enrolment at an MSF-funded DAC is one of the gateways into ADAP, the S$40 deputyship route.
